The Illusion of Perception
The Illusion of Perception: Judging by Appearances and Ignoring True Worth
We live in a society where deception, superstitions, lies, negative emotions, and violence thrive, yet we refuse to acknowledge them. If we are given the task of identifying two people, we quickly judge them based on their external appearances. We don’t consider the pain our insensitive opinions might cause them. Essentially, our judgments are based on their attire. If someone is dressed in a suit, shoes, and tie, our mind instantly labels them as a gentleman, worthy of respect, simply because they have money. If these assumptions are true, then our culture, religion, and spirituality are in danger. Money is important, certainly, but we should judge based on actions.
We were never taught to indulge; we have always prioritized knowledge. However, lately, we are using our arguments to present this very knowledge. This trend will continue in the future. We will keep changing our opinions based on appearances. Instead of focusing on wealth, we should focus on responsibilities. Unfortunately, today’s society is plagued by a negative perspective, and it is this perspective that shapes our world, leading to more negativity.
As we increasingly turn our hobbies into necessities, we are creating a vast, imaginary world within ourselves, a world with no real owner. If there were an owner, we would never experience pain, sorrow, or anger. We have created this world, and we are inflicting suffering upon ourselves. What kind of mindset do we have that makes us see the world we have created as merely imaginary? Yet, this imagination negatively impacts our reality. Today, we share, post, and react to things on social media without verifying them. We are becoming agents of instant reactions, following the paths laid out by others.
